TechGenix Xtreme Podcast: Change is good, change is hard

Welcome to this week’s installment of the Xtreme Minute. This is our weekly rundown of the TechGenix Xtreme Podcast with Louise Chalupiak and Peter King with links to articles on the week’s hot tech topics. We take a bit of a break from our usual technical conversations today to share some helpful hints on the people side of technology.

We kick off with Amy Babinchak and her article, How to get employees comfortable with business change. Amy shares her secret formula as well as her insights into the challenges businesses face when implementing too many major changes in rapid succession. Has the world, in general, reached its change saturation point?

To complement Amy’s insights we move to an article by Mitch Tulloch, titled It’s not that hard: Why soft skills for helpdesk personnel are vital. Mitch points out that when we pick up the phone and call a help desk, we are already stressed. Are we putting too much emphasis on technical skills when we staff up the helpdesk? Have we missed the most important skill?

Benjamin Roussey takes us home with Hire ed: How to write a tech resume that knocks ‘em dead. While we may question if the traditional resume is on its way to extinction, there is no current replacement and Benjamin shares some very important and key elements that we have to ensure are captured during our next resume update.
