I live in a suburb of Dallas, the epicenter of the recent Ebola scare. I’ve been watching ordinary people get swept up into the hysteria and rumors surrounding the first cases in our country of this deadly disease. Now it appears cybercriminals, determined to never let a good crisis go to waste, are using the intense public hunger for knowledge and reassurance to scam computer users into opening malicious attachments that will, ironically, infect their computers while purporting to tell them how to avoid being infected with the biological virus.
