According to a recent report, cybersecurity jobs advertise a 9% salary premium in comparison to other IT jobs.
The annual average salary among security pros in a 2015 survey from (ICS)2 rang up at just under six figures: $97,778. Looking for ways to bump up your paycheck? Those include specializing in the hot sub-fields such as threat intel/security operation center, cloud, big data analysis, etc. Certifications can also be helpful – if they’re the right certifications.
If you’re just now entering the field, though, don’t expect big bucks right away. The shortage and demand is for those with over a decade of experience.
