Key pinning is a security mechanism that ties a public key (or set of keys) that were issued by a trusted certificate authority to a particular domain, in an effort to prevent the use of fake certificates – something that has been happening frequently lately.
Mozilla is adding support for public key pinning to version 32 of it’s Firefox web browser.
