A new report from HP, the HP Cyber Risk Report 2015, says that as many as 44 percent of security breaches result from the exploit of old vulnerabilities for which patches are available. The problem is that, for a myriad of reasons, companies and individuals aren’t applying those patches. Patch management is expensive, difficult and frankly not glamorous – but it is vitally necessary as a key part of any organization’s security strategy.
