The Xtreme Minute: Change is everywhere (but not from a $20 bill)

Welcome to the Xtreme Minute for Friday, Sept. 14! This is a weekly rundown of the TechGenix Xtreme Podcast with Louise Chalupiak and Peter King with links to articles on the week’s hot tech topics. This week we leaned toward a theme of keeping up with change.

Our first article for discussion is a contribution from Rahul Sharma titled Hidden cloud computing costs: Catch them before they catch you. Cloud computing is a great leap forward in the world of service providers and opens up a whole new level of access, as well as our expectations of our vendor partners. Rahul reminds us of the importance of paying close attention to actual usage.

Our middle child today in the Xtreme Minute is Annie Pilon with an article titled Android 9 Pie: A look at some sweet features for business. We seem to be living in the times of the wild, wild west when it comes to technology and mobile devices. Blackberry lost to the iPhone. Will the next iteration perhaps result in Android dominance?

Twain Taylor takes us home with his article, Rise of digital wallets and what they mean for the FinTech industry. We do get a bit nostalgic here and remember the days of the monthly pilgrimage to the bank. Is it getting too easy to spend money? Cash no longer seems to be king, but do we need the pain of handing over our cash?

We won’t ask you for cash. Click here to join our newsletter and be prepared for the Wild, Wild West.
