Dell EMC and VMware have launched a new end-to-end desktop and application virtualization solution for your virtual desktop infrastructure needs. Dell EMC VDI Complete Solutions, powered by VMware Horizon, will provide bundles that come with everything you need to get started for a cost of $8 per month to start.
Here’s some more information from VMware about the new solution.
Features of VDI Complete
The infrastructure of VDI Complete is made to be completely customizable to your needs. You can use vSAN ReadyNotes on Dell PowerEdge servers to build your own solutions or you can buy turnkey solutions built on VxRail hyperconverged appliances. You can also add Nvidia GPUs to add extras like high-performance 3D graphics for VDI if need be.
In addition, users of VDI Complete can enjoy all the benefits of a hyperconverged solution, including easy setup and scalability. VDI Complete runs the VMware software-defined datacenter and Horizon in an all-VMware stack.
You can also use software-defined storage and hyperconverged appliances for joint engagements in VDI. The localized storage delivers high IOPs and also simplifies deployment and engagement.
How to use VDI Complete
The cost of VDI complete starts at $8 per user per month. You can either prepay or take advantage of flexible monthly payments with Dell’s leasing or financing options.
Depending on your needs, the cost can increase from there. But VDI complete allows you to start small and then scale up as needed. So you don’t need to commit to a long contract in order to get the capabilities you need for your organization.
Once you’ve signed up, the bundle has everything you need to get up and running quickly. The solution includes familiar VMware tools and optional Dell endpoints so you should be able to easily navigate the system to help simplify and streamline your day-to-day operations right away.
